Dr Ellis completed his studies at the University of the Free State in 1988.
His Diploma in Occupational Medicine (DOM) and Mines and Minerals Practitioner (M-AMP) was attained at the University of Stellenbosch under the supervision of Prof Barney de Villiers a visionary in the South African occupational health discipline.
He is married with 4 children and resides fulltime in Kuruman.
He completed a short course in Introduction in Ergonomics at the University Of Cape Town Biodynamics Department presented by the well known Bob Bridger.
Dr Ellis is a member of the South African Society of Occupational Medicine (SASOM).
Dr Ellis has occupational health experience in the following fields: Food industry, wine industry, mining, civils, fresh fruit export and packaging, cheese industry and chicken breeding with abattoir.
He is currently active in the Northern Cape Mining Industry for the past 9 years and serves numerous mining appointments.
He has experience in small mines as well as multinational mining companies.
