Dr Ellis


Dr Ellis completed his studies at the University of the Free State in 1988. His Diploma in Occupational Medicine (DOM) and Mines and Minerals Practitioner (M-AMP) was attained at the University of Stellenbosch under the supervision of Prof Barney de Villiers a visionary in the South African occupational health discipline.

He is married with 4 children and resides fulltime in Kuruman.

He completed a short course in Introduction in Ergonomics at the University Of Cape Town Biodynamics Department presented by the well known Bob Bridger.

Dr Ellis is a member of the South African Society of Occupational Medicine (SASOM).

Dr Ellis has occupational health experience in the following fields: Food industry, wine industry, mining, civils, fresh fruit export and packaging, cheese industry and chicken breeding with abattoir.

He is currently active in the Northern Cape Mining Industry for the past 9 years and serves numerous mining appointments.

He has experience in small mines as well as multinational mining companies.


Dr Vorster


Joined the General Practice of Dr Voges & Van Zyl in Kuruman 1974 Appointed as District Surgeon in Kuruman 1974 – 1992 Appointed as Occupational Medical Practitioner of KCB Asbestos and Asbes Mining Company in Kuruman 1974 until mining of asbestos was banned.

Appointed as Superintendent Kuruman Hospital 1987 – 1992.

Qualified as Medical Aviation Examiner 1973.

Registered as Senior Aviation Medical Examiner 2011.

Left Kuruman for four years (1992 – 1996) for General Practice in Uvongo Natal (Dr AWJ Vorster Uvongo).

Relocated to Kuruman in 1996 to start a new practice - Drs Kruger, Vorster & Scheepers.

During 2000 a Company - Dr AWJ Vorster & Vennote - was Incorporated with Dr A Vorster and Dr H Scheepers as directors.

Later Dr L Ellis and Dr L Cronje joined this Company. Dr I Muller was employed as a long term locum. In September 2011 Dr Muller also became a director of Drs AWJ Vorster & Vennote Ingelyf. DOH & M 2014 University of Pretoria(DOH & M).


Dr Louw Cronje


Obtained M.B.,Ch.B in 1987 at University of Stellenbosch. Entered private GP practice in 1991 at Musina, Northern Transvaal.

Was appointed OMP at Messina Copper Mine until 1995. Held OMP appointment at de Beers Venetia Mine, Messina, from 1996-2003.

Joined International – SOS company in 2004 for 18-month contract in Kabul, Afghanistan. Established remote-site clinic in Kabul for civilians in service of the Canadian Peace Force.

Relocated to Kuruman in December2005 to join private practice of Dr's Vorsters and Partn. Inc. Obtained the Advanced University Diploma in Occupational Health from the University of the Free State in 2008.
